Today, friday sept 14, at noon, central european time, in many countries in
the European Union people stopped their work, trains, busses, taxies, private
cars, stopped and all thought about and prayed for the victims in New York
and Washington. I add mine and wish those of you who have loved ones among
the victoms or missing persons strenght and hope you will have people near
you to hold on to.
On several Dutch bf fora, mothers told that they just held their babies more
close and cuddled and nursed more when they heard of the horrible news.
I heard on the radio that in Maastricht Christians, Moslims and Jews plan an
united Service to mourn and to pray for peace.
I am thinking a lot about the attack and what will follow and make an extra
efford in raising my children to be pacifists, in the m,eaning of
peace-makers. And my heart cries for some mothers, who loved their babies
and probably breastfed them and now seem to have cuddled monsters.
