I'm a motivated staff RN in L&D/Postpartum. I worked with a first time Mom whose baby (2 days old) has not able
to latch due to short frenulum (Mom's brother had this). Mom wants it clipped but her pediatrician said he won't do it.
How could I recommend to her she search for someone who would be willing to clip it-call around to
various careprovider's offices to ask if they clip frenulums?
And, what types of careproviders are most likely to do this?
This unfortunate baby also has a high, bubble palate.
Maybe this little one is just not meant to feed at the breast?
Thanks,
Sally Myer RN
