I need your help with a mom bfing a 6 month old. Baby has "bladder
reflux" and will be on antibiotics for the next "4 - 6 years". Several
bouts of yeast between the mom and baby in the past 6 months. Both treated
with Diflucan with good results, but keeps returning. Mom is an experienced
bfing mom - 3 kids x 1 yr plus. Right now ALL kids and mom have thrush.
Just finished 2 week cource of Diflucan.
Question. This is a long term treatment with antibiotics. how many times
can they use Diflucan?
Mom does not want to stop Bfing. I have directed her to "The Yeast
Connection" to try and improve diet. I have given her a copy of K. Hoover's
paper on yeast and tx. I do not know what else to tell her. Any
suggestions?
Thank you, Loretta Haycook, RN, IBCLC
