I spoke to my client today.  The conclusion of this story was indeed that the
ultrasound of the breast confirmed no cancer.  I informed her that as a
lactation consultant, we are indeed breast specialists, learning about the
structures and functions of the breast, inclusive of breastfeeding, yet not
limited by breastfeeding.  Thus, I wish the health care team had referred her
to me.  And, that I could have provided her with the emotional support that
was lacking by the others.  She felt like she was left hanging and not fully
explained about the possible situations presenting themselves.
