Actually babies are managing to gain 1 oz/day each on what seems like tiny
amounts of formula to me. Mom is pumping half heartedly, all adults in home
are very tired. Mom gets nothing from L, sev mls from R, doesn't seem
engorged etc. Was given Reglan on 4 th day in hospital and is still taking
that, but without the stim it's just not happening. She has a lot of
peripheral edema still present, hasn't diuresed yet. Hitting percodan pretty
regularily, eating ok. Took a nap this afternoon.

I did convince mom to get back in her nightie, hide out in her bedroom,
where it feels like a sauna because we figured that it was best to heat the
room if they couldn't stay warm enough. So they are staying warm, both boys
bili down to 8's and off Wallaby etc. They are 35 weekers and only stayed
in the hospital 5 days! Also mom had c-sec Sun am and rooming-in -full
time - began that night!!! Dad just stayed at hospital too. My daughter
does special care nursery and she and I both think it was all a little on
the fast side. I mean it was impressive that they were 35 weeks and never
even saw the inside of the NICU, but...............All I can do is encourage
her to pump and wait for babies to figure out what to do. They are so not
with it that I think it will be another week before we will see anything
impressive in the way of latch and suck. Thanks for all the tips. I don't
do premies :-) Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
