Yes, I too, hear that families cannot make it today on one income(regarding
my nieces who have all returned back to work after babies).My first niece
(in-law actually) weaned both her babies at 4 months before returning to
work but my 2nd niece has gone back to teaching & still nursing her baby at
just past a year(with bottles too but I consider it very positive that she
is still nursing as I was so depressed when my niece-in-law gave it up)! I
am hoping that the one  year maternity leave will result in more mothers
still nursing their babes when returning to work - I am sure it will -
because it will obviously be so much easier than when they are smaller &
pumping, etc. may be required.
But you may be right Janice, perhaps less women will consider staying home
as an option.I hadn't really thought of that possibility before - I was
being a Pollyanna & just thinking about the breastfeeding!
