On Family Law tonight (I've never seen this before, but there was a
commercial about a client w/ pp depression, so I watched it), a mother w/ ppd
kills 2 of her children by locking them in her car on a hot day (the third is
saved by one of the lawyers who is passing by). Several times there is
comment about bf. The father asked the mother to stop taking her meds so she
could bf the babies. At one point the mother says she was given paxil by one
doctor, but another told her not to take it b/c she was pumping her milk.
(She is pumping b/c she cannot bring herself to hold the baby). The
implication is that everyone has the wrong priorities--bf is more important
than the children--rather than the wrong information--mothers can take
anti-depressants and bf. The mother is found innocent by reason of insanity.
