You aren't going to be too high by any stretch of the imagination. An
article in today's Chicago Tribune reported on a study that is coming out
next week indicating that VBACs are much riskier than reported previously --
increased incidence of rupture leading to increased incidence of maternal and
infant deaths. Of course, it DID say that the use of "hormonal" stimulation
or induction further increased the risk -- and went on to say that if the
physician feels the mother needs to be induced, they should just go ahead and
do the C/Section.
Well, being that women are being induced for the most interesting reasons,
pushing the induction rate higher than I have seen it in YEARS, I think 30%
or higher is not far off.
I suspect we should go on the bandwagon to recruit more good and patient LCs.
We're going to need them. Unfortunately.
