When my toddlers were left to their own devices, they came up with some
pretty creative ways to communicate that they wanted to nurse. To the
trained eye and ears, they were dead give aways, and a little embarassing,
I might add. I unknowingly tought them what to call it each time.
My daughter called it "ma now", which came from my saying "You want More,
Now?" My son called it "dis" as he slammed his hand against my chest over
and over (a male thing) because I had said "You want This?" as I pointed
to my chest. But the best by far was my other daughter, calling it "E
Cow" because I used to say, as we were sitting on the couch, "You want to
EAT? On the COUCH?" Mooooo...
Wonder what child #4 will come up with!
Trish
