Aren't fibroadenomas formed within the fatty tissue layers of the breast?
They are by definition "fibrous (fibro-), fatty(aden-) cysts/tumors (-oma)".
They should have nothing to do with milk ducts and therefore nothing to do
with breastfeeding. If the biopsy site leaks a little, cover it with a
band-aid type dressing and move on. If the process of biopsy happens to
"nick" a milk duct it should only be in a minor (and internal) way, again
not affecting breastfeeding. Is the physician thinking the internal anatomy
of the breast is one open cavity like the peritoneum and everything leaks
everywhere inside it? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
