In a message dated 3/7/2 11:42:14 AM, Lynn ask:
<< When did this change from not placing blankets near the baby's face or not
using fluffy comforters? >>
Not sure exactly when, seems I've been hearing about this for a couple of
years now, and last year was at a perinatal council meeting with the BOD of
the local SIDS alliance group, and the no blanket policy is *my recollection*
of the recommendation. And, yes, it seems that many expectant and new parents
do need to be advised about other options like warmer sleepers when
appropriate. The co-sleeping breastfeeder issues were along the lines of firm
sleep surface - no water beds -, keeping baby away from pillows and
blankets.........
