I work as an inpatient LC in a large teaching hospital. We are about to
start stocking glycerin gel dressings for cases of severe nipple
soreness/damage. My question for inpatient LC's is do you make these
accessible for all floor RN's to use, or are they only given out by the
LC's. Also, do you get a physician order when you use them? Or do you
consider them within the realm of nursing interventions, like lanolin and
breast shells? I would appreciate replies to my email address as well as to
the list. Thanks so much.
