Thank you to all who took the time to answer me about their job
descriptions. I tried to answer back but in case I missed someone, I wanted
to thank you all. It is great hospitals and physicians are finally
recognizing the value of a separate position, but it is still important
everyone in the hospital be supportive. I recently heard a receptionist
make a negative comment about nursing and realized that could impact a new
parent too.
I wil keep you posted if any new developments occur with the reality
of a job description in my institution.
Enjoy the rest of summer, always too short in my mind, just
like my children's babyhood and nursing. Held my friend's 5 week old baby
today, (nursing beautifully), and reminiscing a little.
Warm regards,
Ellen Bane Mahony, RN, MS, LCCE, IBCLC
