Someone asked if I pretend to be something/someone I'm not when I write a
formal letter to another LC or LLLL, for her to share with her doctor. NO!
But I may write as if I'm answering a theoretical question posed to me, or
as if I don't really know the person to whom I'm writing. The idea is to
provide information in a format that's not threatening to the doc - far more
effective at times, I think, than sending info directly to the doc in a
format that's clearly in response to a particular situation.
