>>Yesterday Dr. Laura (a radio personality) advised a woman who was calling
to say that her daughter nursed everywhere! In restaurants, in stores, in
homes, wherever she was...(imagine!) At first I thought that the woman's
daughter was the one doing the nursing but it was a grandmother calling. She
informed Dr. Laura that her daughter said it was her "right " to nurse her
child wherever she wanted. (Gee, perhaps she lives in New York State where
it actually is a civil right!)<<
The difference between Dr. Laura giving advice, and the "Judging Amy"
episode is that while one is a work of fiction (even if loosely based on
reality), the other is really happening, IRL.
Imagine the distress that might potentially be caused, which can be directly
attributed to what Dr. Laura has told this grandmother.
Based on that, I think what Dr. Laura said is probably more damaging.
