Perhaps I have missed this detail but am I right in assuming that women
will be providing this milk, and for a fee I presume? It sounds very
much like proxy wet nursing to me, and while it may provide a much
needed  income for some women I can't help but feel a little sad about
women donating their milk like that, in such a  commercial big business
way. Where are the profits going? Is the human milk market going to be
another industry where women are exploited  to make profits for the ever
burgeoning economy? I feel that we can encourage and support families to
choose to breastfeed but unless we help mould the community they live in
to also accept and support their decision, then they are on a rocky
path. If I felt that I wasn't welcome to take my baby along out with me,
fulfil my work and breastfeed at will then I would have to really
rethink my decision and lifestyle, and the fault lies not with Bf, but
the community. Unless women feel that bf enhances their life they cannot
make an informed choice, because what sort of a choice is it if BF means
that work options are limited, travel or shopping and LIFE is limited.
BF has never in history marginalised and inhibited women as much as what
some of our communities are doing now. Breastfeeding is not meant to be
like this. I am sure there are millions of reasons why women might
consider buying milk in a can but breastfeeding shouldn't have millions
of faults, it isn't meant to be that way.

Just my raving thoughts after a very tiring first day back at school.
Off to the ABA conference on Monday yippee!!!! I'll be the one with jet
lag and very engorged breasts!
