Hi Kym,
First of all, have some cyberhugs - ready? - HUGGG!
We LC's see a lot of sad stories over the years. Unfortunately,
difficulty feeding is the first sign of many problems in infants:
cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, gi, developmental, neurological....
Judy Fram often states that there is something wrong with a baby that
cannot breastfeed, as breastfeeding is the normal developmental task of
the newborn, and she is absolutely right. I look forward to the day
when this is taken seriously by our society, that every baby who can't
breastfeed gets medical and therapeutic attention and assistance.
