Hello again to all of my Lactnet friends--
I have been off and on this list almost since its inception so some of you
may remember me. I am back on again as I am now a PhD Candidate (having
passed my Qualifying Exams!!) and need to get back into networking and
keeping up-to-date as I search for a Dissertation topic (all suggestions can
be sent to me personally).
My request today concerns the need for nursing textbooks and breastfeeding
books that anyone would be willing to donate to a College of Nursing in the
Philippines. I travelled there in 2000 and 2001 on medical missions and made
many nurse/nursing student friends who still keep in contact with me. The
College is located in Davao, on the island of Mindanao (not too far from the
terrorist activity of the Abu Sayeff group).
They would welcome any recent (within 5 years) nursing texts or breastfeeding
books for their reference library.
Anyone who is willing to make such donations should contact me directly at <
[log in to unmask]> and I can give you the address to which to ship the
books. It will be best for you to ship them directly to the college if you
can, but if you send them to me (cheaper), I will be soliciting donations
from women's clubs, etc to ship the books to the Philippines.
Thanks in advance. I am glad to be back and look forward to the
conversations.
