Hello all and a happy new year to all of my lactnet friends.
I wonder if the current Dutch hype is an international or a national one:
swaddling the baby who is percevered to be crying too much/sleeping not
enough/not long enough/(breast)feeding too often.
Personally I do not like this habit of binding a baby into a Taco. I'm afraid
for the normal physical development when babies spent a rather long part of
the day and night in a stretched body position (arms are put and fixed along
the sides with the hands open and the legs are fixed straight (pictures to be
found at http://www.babycare-and-advice.com/inbaker.htm with text in Dutch
but the pictures speak for themselves)
I'd like to know the opinions of others and especially of those among us who
are knowledgable in normal physical development in young chidren.
Warmly greeting,
Gonneke
