Dear June,
Though it is commonly quoted that breastmilk is not constipating,
a wholly ecologically breastfed child may still be constipated.
My firstborn daughter was. That is a first sign of low thyroid
though we had no idea until she was 16 and her hair was falling out.
Both infrequent urination and bowel movments are a sign of slow
metabolic processes.
I've posted regarding this once before and that she had other
visible signs of low thyroid that I now recognize, but constipation
when there should be none is a presenting symptom.
You may contact the Broda Barnes Thyroid Research Institute in Trumbull,
CT to get more information.
