Perhaps a point to take into considerstion when using a soy formula is that
approx. 40% of babies/children that have a cows milk allergy have also a
soy allergy! I wasn't aware of this until the doctor looking after my
children mentioned these statistics (this was 10yrs ago or more). My 3
children suffer from allergies and 2 had cows milk allergies, as well as
soya, so it doesn't mean if cows milk is not tolerated then soy will. I
breastfed all into the second year of life and the cows milk allergy became
apparent through my milk. The soy later on when I introduced it in the
educational diet after 10 months.
