Regarding a recent post about hospitals providing LC services...
One local hospital does about 5000 births/year and proudly advertises
that they have 7 IBCLCs on staff. No mention that only 1 is working on any
given day, and she may have 25-35 mom/baby pairs to see, and when things are
REALLY busy, she might get pulled to the nursery to function as a nurse.
All about marketing, not valuing breastfeeding. I know that not all
hospitals function this way. Please tell me that this is not the norm.
