The Kaiser Family Foundation has partnered with HealthWeek (a weekly news
show produced by Newsweek Productions, in association with Maryland Public
Television) to develop twelve segments a year on pressing health policy
topics. The third in the series, "Medical Interpreters," begins airing

The Foundation has researched the topic of linguistic access in our health
system and has recently focused much attention on the analysis of barriers
to care for immigrants. Language is a key obstacle to health care for many
