You bet they are attached! And there's a lot written on this. Dr. David
Chamberlain's work clearly shows a prenatal bond. His first book was "Babies
Remember Birth" and his current one is "The Mind of the Newborn Baby." A
great source is www.birthpsychology.com and then follow the links for more
on this very important topic.
BTW, I met Dr. Chamberlain in San Diego a few years ago. He is an inspiring,
gentle man - very clued into mothers, babies and breastfeeding. I found "the
mind of the newborn baby" in a big-box bookstore, Borders or Barnes & Noble
I think. It's not hard to get.
