I was so pained and distressed to read what Tony wrote. You cannot imagine
the grief that we are feeling here as the result of the unprovoked and
savage murders of thousands of citizens of many countries who were going
about their daily business riding in planes and going to work. Lactnet is
made up of health care workers. We are typically people who have spent our
lives trying to assist, and I know my work has been completely open in terms
of the communities I've served and will cont. to serve in spite of my grief.
Your post was insensitive in the extreme and so political that I can only
assume that you intend to provoke. The compassion that breastfeeding
advocates feel for others does not make them immune to fear and uncertainty.
My heart goes out to the innocents that have been hurt in Afganistan, and to
the people in England who lost loved ones in this and in other terrorist
acts, all of which I deplore.
