I have seen babies adapt to using any alternate feeding method.  That is why
it is so important to emphasize the temporary nature of using these.  One of
the greatest advantages to using a cup if you need to supplement or get more
into a baby is the psychological advantage.  We have moms who see a bottle as
a substitute for the breast, but they don't look at the cup or finger feed
that way.  They often comment that it is amazing to see a newborn drinking
out of a cup!!!
