I have read these posts with interest because it was something I wondered
myself. For me though, it boiled down to one thing-time. I have lots of
different letters not because I am well educated, but because I have a lot of
interests when it comes to moms and babies. When I am corresponding to
someone that may see all of the letters as increased credibilty, I roll them
out. When I am signing a chart, I use the RN, IBCLC and stop there. Teaching
a class to the community-I just title myself as "Instructor" and give verbal
background stuff that probably means more to a lay person. In fact, when it
comes to new parents, the fact that I BF twins is more credible than anything
after my name <g>.
