I agree with the observation that many of these children have food
allergies, and may be resisting solids for very good reasons. I would be
inclinced to suggest increasing breastfeeding from the 3 to 4 feedings a day
described in the original post, and to try to figure out which foods the
child can tolerate. It seems to me that many of the foods commonly given to
toddlers are likely to be allergenic - they contain wheat, eggs, milk, corn,
tomatoes, etc.
