To the experts:
You know how it is- just when you think you have heard it all.....
I have a client who is 11 weeks pregnant and got a tatto recently (within the last month). She was told by her ob that she should not breastfeed due to "poison" being present in her bloodstream from the tattoo.
My experience says- why would anyone get a tattoo if, in fact, we had such a dangerous poison circulating in our body for MONTHS. Gee, would it even be safe to get pregnant and continue the pregnancy while this is circulating in your system? I know this can be added to the "stupid reasons to wean" list but told the mom I would check to see if anyone knew of any new research that addresses this issue and requested the doctor to provide his reference for this to share with other Tattooed moms!!
