Linda,
Something which I have found helpful is printing some stuff off
the net on extended breastfeeding for those that are questioning the mother
who is 'still' breastfeeding. Something that says all she would like to say
to them. I've found that it can be hard to explain everything to someone
that you would like to support
you... it can come over too heavy but if you give them info that someone
else has written and just say you thought that they might be interested in
it, it takes the heat off you. Much like the 'expert' letter described here
on Lactnet recently. This mum could give it to her less than helpful
friends. It might shut them up.
One good one is a parents place address

to wean. Neither mom nor baby is quite ready for that yet. I encouraged her
to continue as long as they want and also to maybe get some new friends!
