My mothr who is 76 yrs old had an epidural today to relieve intense back
pain. While she was doing that, my dad who is 84 yrs old, wandered down to
the hospital lobby where the Breastfeeding  support counselors had a WBW
display. He proceeded to stop and tell them all about his daughter who
teaches bfing, how wonderful his grandchildren are, etc, how he has supported
LLL with wood crafts for their fundraisers for 21 yrs now, etc. He stayed at
the booth for 3 hrs and stopped everyone going by to tell them the miracles
of breastmilk!! The counselor said he was the best salesman breastfeeding
ever had! The doctor had to go down  to the lobby and retrive him back to my
mother's side at the end of her procedure! At which point dad asked the
doctor how much he knew about breastfeeding
   ( a surgeon!!). Mom only bf for about 6 weeks because at that point we
graduated
( the ped wrote that in my record that I was doing so well on breastmilk, I
could graduate to big girl milk!), so my kids were the experiment that dad
saw first hand develop.
there was a editorial in the local newspaper (small weekly) about the
advantages of bfing, an news article and several articlesin the bigger
newspaper in the nearby town. I checked and it isn't on the website yet.
Anyone going to western NC can stop by to visit my dad. He's a real old timer
mountain story teller and now  lactation expert!!!
