I think I need to check with my hospital to see if they permit ABM co's to
have access to patients' names & addresses. The hosp Admin keeps stressing
patient confidentiality with staff training & retraining. This sounds like
a gross violation of patient confidentiality on the part of any HCP to
provide contact info. The patient should be willingly or knowingly
providing her contact info if she so chooses. Receipt of coupons / samples
should not be a surprise. The other source can be newspaper publication of
births. Mom should have the option of declining newspaper publication. I
don't think the ABM co's can get the info from whatever govt office
maintains official birth records. "Inquiring minds want to know..." Time to
start making friendly visits to my friendly Admin dept.
