Amy, if you go to www.iblce.org, you will see the stringent practice
requirements which are the prerequisites that one must have before being
allowed to sit for the IBCLE examination.
There are practice hours involved, I believe 2500 hours for a person with a
four year degree. These hours or practice with breastfeeding mothers are a
key point in providing a candidate with adequate experience to help a
breastfeeding mother. I
This subject will generate other responses, but I do want to point out this
difference which I feel is marked.
