Congratulations on your wonderful birth!  But, don't be so hesitant to
recommend nursing during labor. For those of us who have tandem-nursed, many
of us have nursed during labor. I have not experienced nor can I think of any
other mom I know who had such a dramatic reaction to nursing. Maybe not
nursing for 6 weeks played a role, and I would also imagine you were quite
ready for labor. Contractions often stop when women are under stress (feeling
unsure about coming too early to the birth center, crying toddler, etc) and
resume when relaxed (nursing your dd).
