Sorry Cindy must have been an early am post and the web site for that patent
is
http://www.uspto.gov/patft/index.html and the patent # is 5922375 (that
number was wrong on that post, too)

It looks like I forgot the www. but I can assure you that that patent exists.
But of course I don't know if Nestle used it or not. While everyone may
feel reassured by a Nestle spokesperson saying that it was never used, I am
not that sure. How do we have proof that this was never used? What
regulatory bodies are checking the infant formula production lines? How did
we find out that the soy in formula was gm? I believe this information came
from an environmental group (Greenpeace?). I am not sure I would take the
work of Nestle...they haven't been known for their honesty. This bacteria is
in deposit from the American Type Culture Collection and is cloned. Why spend
all the money on a patent and then not use it? (there are maintanence fees).
But there aren't the only cloned organisms in formula. Sorry about not
posting my name and the incorrect web site and patent number. I must have
been having a bad typing day. I stand by what I copied and pasted--directly
from the patent!!
