I have a mom I wrote about in March who was willing to do anything to
make BF work this time, after pumping for her first son who she never got
to latch on for 6 months. With much effort on her part and domperidone
she has made much more milk for this little one and is now talking about
BF for 16-18 months. I had to call her about something else and told her
about the PharmacyCare in New Zealand shutting down their website and
therefore no access to domperidone without a prescription. She is
devastated and is wondering if there is anywhere else to obtain it
without a doctor's prescription. She originally asked for a script and
the doc was not interested in writing one for her without long term
studies showing its effectiveness, etc, etc, etc. So she has been using
it for close to 6 months without the doc knowing and figuring he still
won't help her out. So is there any place for her to go?

Warmly,
Pat Bucknell, IBCLC
