Dear Latnetters,
I have drawn a blank in my quest for information on both Medline, Cinahl and
the Lactnet archives. I am in the process of finalising our hypoglycaemia
policy and I need to quantify the amounts of colostrum which will
significantly raise blood sugar levels in hypoglycaemic newborns (both
pre-term and term). What I am looking for is published research (if
possible) that backs up what we already know. I am giving a presentation to
the journal club (mostly involves doctors) on hypoglycaemia in two weeks
time and want to give a breastfeeding friendly slant. Also I would
appreciate if anyone has access to hypoglycaemic policies to email them
privately to me.
TIA
Marian Rigney (Registered nurse)
