In my language,
TIA means thanks in advance, not totally in agreement
IMHO means my humble, not honest opinion (there is also IMNSHO -- not so
humble)
OT means off topic on some lists, but has been used on lactnet recently
for occupational therapist (the PT beside it gave it away)
As a linguist, I would expect such variations in meaning!
