I just received a "Resource Sheet" released by the Canadian Child Care Federation, in conjunction with the Canadian Institute of Child Health, called "Supporting Breastfeeding in Child Care".
It is one page, and features these sections:
"Is Your Setting Breastfeeding-Friendly?"
"What Science Says about Breastfeeding"
"Creating Breastfeeding-Friendly Child Care" through
1. Individual breastfeeding support plans
2. Feeding policies
3. Communication and Education.
Looks like a good basic handout to begin discussion with day care, caregivers etc.
To purchase or reprint this resource sheet, contact Canadian Child Care Federation, 383 Parkdale Avenue, Suite 201, Ottawa, Ontario K1Y 4R4. Telephone 1-800-858-1412 Fax (613) 729-3159
