I am glad to say test weighs have not been done in the UK for about
20 years - well, they are very rarely done. We have discussed this
before on Lactnet, and I did concede that in the right hands, with
the right support and information and follow-up, I could just about
imagine a scenario where it might help an individual mother and baby
[while remaining puzzled about what one single feed could tell you ;
) ]..and after all, there are some very experienced and respected
people on this list who do them, and I bow to that.
But when they are done here, I can honestly say I have never once
come across a situation where they have helped preserve the bf, or
helped the mother's confidence...but of course here the people who do
the test weighing may not give the right support, follow-up etc etc.
