Hi Cathy,
I know of mothers who went as far back as 5 foods before their babies where
allergic-symptoms free. These mothers breastfed exclusively, while themselves
living on a very Spartanic diet of (if I do recall well from one of them)
turkey meat, rice, corn, pears and pumpkin. I think this mother (LLLL herself
and autodidact on allergies) started with going down to rice alone, as rice
is the one food that is totally neutral. When symptons in the baby
disappeared, she started to add turkey and then tried adding the
fruits\veggies, each new one not before being symptom free for a couple of
days. This mother was healthy, but skinny, for the time her baby breastfed
(3* years) The child was gradually offered other foods and what ever teh
child could tolerate, the mother added to her own diet as well.
This is a drastic way, but if monitored well, not dangeous per se.
