Just a personal story. I had a mom come see me at work, we remembered each
other she was the day care provider for my soon to be 13 year old. She had
given birth a few days earlier and her baby was still in the NICU. She had
been using the Classic in the hospital, with good results, after discharge
she rented a Lactina and was only pumping out a third of the amount she got
with the Classic. She wasn't sure if buying a pump would work better - not
really knowing I gave her the names of 2 other LC who rent pumps to see if
anyone had a Classic available.
It really depends on the mom, some can switch back and forth between pumps
and still get enough milk - others need a specific pump, in her case the
Classic was the only one that really worked.
