Ah, this reminds me of the ABM-sponsored diaper bag I got when I was in
the hospital with my little one born 10/17. I told the nurse she could
take it back because I wasn't going to use any ABM, and she insisted it
was a breastfeeding oriented one. I thought "oh sure" but I let her
leave it in the room. The bag included a couple of empty breastmilk
storage bottles and some breastfeeding information, as well as the
ABM, and called itself a "breastfeeding support kit" or something to that
effect. ARGH. I left the ABM in the room.

I insisted on my baby not being taken to the nursery unless I was with
him or Daddy was with him. This was definitely weird for them -- and
kind of amusing for me. They brought a lot more stuff to the room to
do because of this, I think. However, they were great about it. And
this way I didn't even have to use the "absolutely no artificial
nipples" sign I made for his bassinet. :-)
Side note: I had a nomeds birth and my doula announced to a room full
of staff that I was a LLLL... shortly thereafter it was getting close
to breakfast time and I was asked if I was a vegan! Okay, so I came
in wearing my Birks, too, but I'm not that crunchy... the assumption
was funny in a way, but also speaks to the community's views...
