Hello all, I have a question regarding oral contraceptives and bf. From what
I read in the archives I believe it is safe to advice the progesterone only
pill (mini-pill) to my client who has a 2 week old baby. She was on a
combined oral contraceptive and it decreased her milk supply. Is the brand
name of a progesterone only pill Microner? Can she start this OC right away
or does she have to wait longer for her supply to be established? Any
information would be helpful. Personally I spaced all of my own seven with
breastfeeding so you can tell by their ages 19, 15, 12, 9, 6, 3, and 20mo.
As a result I have no personal experience with OC. I appreciate your replies
and please respond to me privately as well on the list because I am currently
no mail at this time.
WIC Breastfeeding Counselor,
Tammie Gregory
