There had been a question about the safety of eating crab while lactating,
so I checked the New York Times Article that summarized the FDA report
on "Brain Food: What Women Should Know about Mercury in Fish". It listed
mid-Atlantic blue crab as one of the "fish" women should eat during
pregnancy (and lactation too). Blue crab from the Gulf of Mexico was
listed as one of the "fish" that should not be eaten more than once a
month. Good thing I checked, because I had just eaten some lovely sea bass
and discovered that was on the list of fish to avoid. So, no more sea bass
for me!
