This is OT, but perhaps could be tied in by saying to trust your
instincts when it comes to fear in a medical situation: An excellent
book to read on this subject is "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker.
Talks about trusting those instincts, letting your sense of rightness
and wrongness in a given situation guide you. My husband (in the
security field!) read it and passed it on to me. I think many of its
ideas are applicable to situations well outside the darkened mall
parking lot.
