I started today talking with ALL my new moms about post partum depression. I have a nice handout from Noodle Soup that we use here. My last patient of the day was in with her 5th child and said she had had problems in the past and been on Prozac. She is new to our health plan so I discussed how to get help and  exactly where to call for starting treatment. IF YOU DON"T ASK, THEY WON"T TELL!  I think alot of moms may think that pediatrics or lactation service is only for the baby's care but in reality we do "family care."
