Hi Carolyn,
It certainly sounds like thrush pain to me.
Sometimes this can occur with older babies, eg after antibiotics, after
contact with another child with oral thrush, other family or household
member with thrush, who knows?
I would tell her it sounded like thrush to me, and would suggest she start
treatment.
