As a mostly fairly silent lurker on the Lactnet I have become somewhat
disturbed by the flurry of replies to Tony Knox.  From my understanding of
what he has written he recognises that breast feeding is superior to formula
and I concur with this sentiment 100%.  As a health care professional I try
to give accurate evidence based advice about the superiority of breastmilk
and the enormous benefits breastfeeding provide for both mother and baby.
However when a mother, after being given this factual information, chooses
to formula feed I support her in her decision and I believe this is the
right approach. I may not agree with her choice but I believe in her right
to make it.
