Bonjour to you all,

Rachel and Linda posted on C-S. Just wanted to let you all know what was
in our French new's paper this morning. The title is "After a C-S one
better avoid a natural birth". Of course they always put a catchy title
to get you to read it. It is a fairly long article, not just a few
lines. If you read it though, it says that this study "shows clearly
that there is more risks of an uterine rupture when prostaglandines are
involved" and a little further it goes on to say that "we are not saying
that after a C-S a woman cannot have a vaginal birth, we mearly say that
there is a risk that we can't evaluate". It is from The New England
Journal of Medicine.

For those interested, it is at

It is hard for me to understand why anyone would give advise on anything
they don't know. If a Dr/nurse for example is not well informed on bf,
then, by all means, get info from collegues or from a reliable source.
But what is even harder for me to experience is those "catchy" titles
for the sole purpose of selling. This is when I realize, yet another
time, that only mass actions will get bf rates to rise. Bf rates will
rise when it there "in the market" along with battered woman, drugs or
even cigarettes. When bf will be no longer noticible because seen
everywhere. When, as Ted Greiner said in Moncton in May, a postcard of a
woman weaving a basket with an "old toddler" at the breast is simply
titled "Woman weaving a basket".

Boy, long way from C-S to baskets. Sorry about that. ;-)
